About the Old English Sheepdog

Old English Sheepdog is a breed you'll never forget. It´s a large pastorial dog with a very good temperament. They are faithful dogs that gives you lots of companionship. The sheepdog is also a watch dog telling you that strangers are coming to your house. Besides being an excellent family dog, the OES loves obedience, agility and works. However, be prepared that the learning to a certain degree seems to be according to terms set by your dog. Eventually you might ask the question "who owns who?".

The Old English Sheepdog is a breed with a very large coat which requires a lot of grooming. You have to set a side 3-4 hours a week for dog grooming. With an Old English Sheepdog about you will find some loose hair around in your house, in your car and on your suit. However the long hairs can be captured without much difficulty with a vacuum cleaner. Happily it doesent come off in heaps which may happen seasonally with other breeds.

Old Dream established in 1995

Old Dream Kennel for Old English Sheepdog was established in 1995 by breeders Ingebjörg and Nils Henrik Agerup. We live in Norway just outside the town Tönsberg at the west side of the Oslo Fjord, 90 km south of Oslo. We have had five litters and a total of 46 puppies. Our goal is to breed sound and happy Old English Sheepdogs as close to the breed standard as possible.

At this site you can see pictures of our dogs as well as several pictures of their ancestors. Links to these pictures are found within the pedigrees.

Who we are

Ingebjörg got her first OES at the age of 13. She had been living next door to an Old English Sheepdog since the age of 5. Her first OES "Fleur" (White Mansion Quelques Fleur) was born 31/12-1970. Fleur is the model of the drawing in our logo. She died 9 years old. In 1980 we got "Amica" (Proper Charm Amica), the first OES we had together. Amica died 11 years old. She was very talented and got the award for best obedience OES in Norway several times. During her time with us we got three children; Ina, Johannes and Siril.

In 1993 "Pandora" (Mandora’s Charming Pandora) came to us from Mandoras kennel. We got 13 lovely years together with her. She had two litters, and we kept "Minnie" (Old Dream's Lovely Miss Amy) from her first litter. Lovely Minnie had one litter and from that we kept "Cherie" (Old Dream's Princess Cherie). In 2005 we bought "Lucky" (Lykkegården Hit of the World) from the Danish Kennel Lykkegården. Luckys first litter was borned in 2008 and we kept "Ema" (Old Dream´s Lovely MIss Ema. Today we have three beautiful OES: Cherie, Lucky and Ema.

The whole family is very found of animals and especially Old English Sheepdogs. We believe it is healthy to keep dogs, train them and go for long walks. Besides agility and obedience we like to attend dog shows. Showing your dog is a fine opportunity to keep your OES in good coat condition, as well as it is a good opportunity to meet other OES owners. We attend regular walks together with other Old English Sheepdog families in the south eastern part of Norway. It's a great sight to see 15 OES at once.

Ingebjörg has been a member of the board of the Norwegian Old English Sheepdog Club (NOESK) for many years. In 2006 Ingebjörg was appointed honorary member of the club. Ina has been the editor of the club magazine, "OES i Norge", for seven years.
